As a psychology graduate who spent a couple of years working, I felt a pull to return to a field that involved personal connections and sensitivity in working with people — that is, therapy. While exploring different therapy mediums and programs that aligned with my work style, I was fortunate to be introduced to the MA Music Therapy program at Chulalongkorn University. Music and the arts allow us to perceive ourselves in a different light, as human beings with creativity and emotional depth.

As I began my practicum, I was amazed and deeply moved by the connections and musical dialogues I witnessed. Observing non-verbal clients in music therapy sessions, I truly realized that words are not always sufficient in all situations, and music can create a sense of connection. I grew to love music therapy as I learned more about how it fosters the alliance between therapist and client through experiential work.
During my practicum/internship at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Siriraj Palliative Care, and the University Psychiatric Center at KU Leuven in Kortenberg, Belgium, I continued to grow as a student music therapist, working with diverse populations in medical, palliative care, and psychiatric settings. Each experience taught me something new and touched me deeply through the shared experiences in music therapy.

The MA program has equipped me with the competencies necessary to become a music therapist to work with diverse populations in music therapy. Currently, I work at Vimut Hospital as part of the mental health team, where I provide music psychotherapy.
Additionally, I am the founder and music therapist at Attune Music Therapy, where we conduct mental health workshops for the public and corporate sector. The MA music therapy program not only prepared us for our careers but also facilitated connections; we are very fortunate to have Dr. Jin Hyung Lee as our supervisor at Attune.

Finally, I work with neurodivergent individuals as a music therapist at the Arunothai Center, affiliated with the Autistic United Association Thailand.
