New admissions are accepted once each year from January to April for the August intake of the following academic year. Applicants who meet the qualifications must submit application materials, audition videos, application fee by the designated application deadline each year. The specific timeline for each application period are listed in the FAQ section of this website.
2.1 Academic Requirement: Any individual who holds a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 (equivalent to a percentage grade of 77%).
2.2 English Requirement: (Applicants must provide proof of scores for one of the tests listed below, attained within the previous 2 years.):
– CU-TEP score of at least 60 or
– TOEFL score of at least 500 (61 for iBT / 173 for CBT) or
– IELTS (Academic) score of at least 5.5.
* If graduated from a university where English is the official language of instruction, applicant may submit an official letter from the institution verifying this.
2.3 Musical Requirement:
– Demonstrate a good level of functional accompaniment skills on the guitar or piano.
– Possess solid singing skills with ability to sing on pitch with good volume.
– Be able to engage in musical improvisation using the voice or a melodic instrument of the applicant’s choice.
Remark: Other qualifications not mentioned above can be considered for approval by the programme committee.
3.1 Application Materials
– A completed official university application form.
– A 750-1,000 word Statement of Purpose describing current activities, current knowledge about music therapy, research interests, and future plans.
– Two letters of recommendation (at least one must be from an academic institution, sent directly to cufaamt@gmail.com by the reference).
– A curriculum vitae.
– A photograph of the applicant (taken within the last 6 months).
– [Thai Applicant] A photocopy of the applicant’s National ID card or
[International Applicant] A photocopy of the applicant’s Passport.
– A copy of all relevant official transcript(s).
– An official test report of an English Proficiency Test (attained within the last 2 years).
– A YouTube playlist link to the applicant’s audition videos.
3.2 Audition Videos (video-recorded performances of the following)
– Three vocal songs in different genres/style with simultaneous self-accompaniment using piano or guitar of the applicant’s choice. Two songs must be in English
– A short piece that demonstrates technical skills on the applicant’s main instrument. Voice is also counted as a main instrument.
– A free improvisation that demonstrates the applicant’s creativity and expressive abilities on a melodic/harmonic, or percussive instrument. A vocalist may perform free vocal improvisation (Minimum 2 minutes).
– All videos must be uploaded to the applicant’s personal YouTube account and compiled into a single playlist. Please submit only one link to your YouTube playlist that includes all required videos.

4.1 Fill out the online application here.
4.2 Prepare all application materials, including a link to the videos, in either a text or PDF file.
4.3 Create a zip file containing all materials and send it to cufaamt@gmail.com.
* All five video-recorded performances must be uploaded to YouTube as a playlist.
4.4 A staff member will notify each applicant of their scheduled time for an online Zoom interview.
4.5 The result of your application will be sent via email within two weeks of your interview date.

A limited number of partial scholarships from the Office of Academic Affairs are available to applicants. Students must prepare their scholarship applications at the same time as they submit their application materials. For more information, refer to the scholarship information page. If a student decides to apply for scholarships, they must notify the music therapy staff of their interest when applying. Once admitted, further information will be provided to proceed with the scholarship application process.
